Pyromancer
In the game, you can select from a variety of different builds. You can choose to be a pyromancer at the start and then become a warrior using a sword and a shield. There are many magic spells and weapons to choose from to create the character that you desire. Dark Souls is not just a role-playing video game in that you can level up to become stronger. You can roleplay using different armor sets. I created a character that was a Black Knight before he went to the asylum. When I became strong enough, I reclaimed the armor and weapons of my black knight.
Faith and Sorcery
Dark Souls has many hidden items. Dark Souls rewards you for exploring. Pyromancy, Faith, and sorcery are all types of magic. Pyromancy is a form of magic that uses fire spells. These are derived from the witches in Izalith. Sorcery is the work of sorcerers. Faith spells were left behind by the gods. It can be a challenge to collect all variants within one game, as they are easily hidden. You are not human and you’re hollow. There is a fix for this. You can turn back human by using the humanity item.
Bonfire
To become human again, you will have to choose at the bonfire. You can summon phantoms in Lordran to fight your enemies. This is a major problem and may be one of Dark Souls’ biggest flaws. You can summon phantoms that will help you, but you can be invaded as well! You are fighting enemies in Dark Souls when this appears on your screen. The troll face is on your screen! In a few seconds, a red ghost will appear near you. This player will likely kill you within seconds. You can call on friends or other non-playable characters, who will appear in blue.
Dark Souls Remastered Characters
Warrior
Warrior is the standard default class that many new players stick with as it is mostly centered with equally gifted stats minus a few in magic casting. As the Warrior, you start with the Longsword, Heater Shield, and the full Hard Leather Set plus the Standard Helm.
Knight
Like the Warrior, the Knight is designed for up-close quarters. It tends to be far heavier but more defensive to boot. Stats are even closer here with a slight drop in Intelligence points. As the Knight, you start with the Broadsword, Tower Kite Shield, and the full Knight Set.
Wanderer
Wanderer is much faster and focuses more on Dexterity rather than Strength. As the Wanderer, you start with the Scimitar, Leather Shield, and the full Wanderer Set.
Thief
The Thief is also a heavy Dexterity utilizing daggers for quick and powerful critical hits. You start with the Bandit’s Knife, Target Shie,ld, and the full Black Leather Set plus the Chief Mask.
Bandit
The Bandit class is another high-end Strength class. As the Bandit, you start with the Battle Axe, Spider Shiel,d, and the full Brigand Set.
Hunter
Hunter is another Dex-heavy build that is very efficient in melee but also ranged combat as well. As the Hunter, you start with the Shortsword, Short Bow plus 30 Standard Arrows, Large Leather Shie,ld, and the full Leather Set with no headwear.
Sorcerer
This class is heavy on intelligence focusing on sorceries for good damage. As the Sorcerer, you start with Dagger, Small Leather Shield, Sorcerer’s Catalyst, and the full Sorcerer’s Set. You also start with the basic Soul Arrow sorcery.
Pyromancer
The Pyromancer class as the name suggests, focuses on the use of pyromancies for heavy offensive damage. As the Pyromancer, you start with the Hand Axe, Cracked Round Shield, Pyromancy Flame, and the full Tattered Cloth Set. You also start with the basic Fireball pyromancy.
Cleric
Like the previous two classes, the Cleric is a mage-heavy build focusing on Faith stats and utilizes miracles for mainly defensive and supportive roles. As the Cleric, you start with the Mace, East-West Shield, Canvas Talisman, Holy Robe, Trousers, and Travelling Gloves. You also start with the basic Heal miracle for extra healing.
Deprived
Deprived is a class designed for people looking for a harder challenge than what the game already provides. However, the Deprived class has 11 in all stats so is relatively easy to find a path later on, although the start of the game can be harder than most classes. As the Deprived, you start with the Club and a Plank Shield with armor.
You are free to choose any class you see fit. Ultimately, it’s up to you and what build works the best for you. However, for the sake of the guide, I will be taking the Bandit class so any stat upgrades done in the guide are aimed at the Bandit class.

If you are having trouble at the start of the DSR, this is for you. You will be dropped off at the Fire Link shrine when you exit the undead asylum. From there, head down the steps toward the top part of the torch. You can now search for a chest that contains an item to allow you to fight the ghosts. Don’t go too far, but if you are lucky you may find one of their daggers. It is possible to kill ghosts without a curse by using Wg 0.5 Bleed x200 att.144. It’s a good way to stay ahead of the curve, even if you don’t max out your stats right away. Remember that the more difficult the game becomes, the more souls you will need to purchase, level up, etc., and the new soul items required to execute this exploit.
This exploit
This exploit is available immediately after defeating Moonlight Butterfly at Darkroot Garden. Put the Soul of Moonlight Butterfly in the quick-item slots. Continue until the item is equipped. Press START or the button on your platform (controls listed for XB360) to open your item list. Make sure that Estus Flasks remain the first item in your inventory and that you haven’t rearranged it. If you are learning this exploit for the very first time, it is recommended that you use a weapon with a slower attack, like the Zweihander. This will help to perfect the timing. Once the timing is perfected, any weapon can be used. You should exit the menu, and then find a safe place. A corner is ideal but not required.
Attack the corner wall
The exploit is easy to do. Attack the corner wall or wherever you are standing. Be sure to use full swings and not just deflect the ball off of the wall. Press X about one-third of the way through your attack (just practice the timing). Press START, then A, A, and A again while still in the animation of an attack to use an Estus Flask. The confirmation box will appear. To use the SotMB, select “Yes”. This will give you 1200 souls and keep the item in your Inventory. It also drains one Estus usage. This works on empty Estus. Don’t panic if you make a mistake
Select “No” and then try again. The Estus Flask is used in most cases as a result of errors. Repeat this process as often as you want. You can use any item that has a confirmation box, like Homeward Bones. Don’t grind low-value souls too much, because you will get better rewards later on in the game (the second exploitable Soul is Queelag, worth 8000, almost seven times as many souls per exploit).
Demon Titanite
You can take advantage of the item trading by hawk girls when you return to prison. By doing the following, you can obtain an infinite amount of demon titanite or twinkling titanate. Demon Titanite: Drop 1 prism in the hawk girl’s roost and exit the game. You will return to the same place you left if you load your safe file. Drop another prism before you pick up an item that has already been converted.
Then pick the demon Titanite. You can exit and load another demon Titanite. Repeat until you have 99 titanite. You can only do this if you’ve never traded the prism stones before. You can also do it in the new game or a new game if you have not done so before. The same steps apply to twinkling titanite as to demon titanite. However, you will need to drop the blooming purple-moss clump. You will receive 2 twinkling Titanites.
